Stir Fry Recipes

Stir fries are fantastic meals to cook when you're in a bit of a hurry or if you're looking to up your intake of vegetables. Typically, ingredients are cooked together very quickly in some hot oil. Flavoured oils like chilli, garlic, or sesame oil are very popular when cooking a stir fry as they give a great depth of flavour. Most stir fries consist of vegetables, meat, and a carbohydrate — usually rice noodles or egg noodles, although cooked rice is also used.

About Stir Fries:

Although stir fries are a predominantly Asian dish, you can use pretty much any ingredients that you have to hand. Celery is always good, as is finely chopped white onion and thin slices of mushrooms. You don't have to flavour stir fries with items like soy sauce or lime juice either — a pinch of salt and pepper and a dash of Worcestershire sauce is a nice twist.

Most of the stir fry dishes above will include an idea of which noodle or rice to serve with your meal, but if you don't have any noodles or rice in and you still fancy a stir fry, some tagliatelle or linguine pasta will give you the same effect. For a healthier choice, try thinly slicing carrot and courgette and use it as a vegetable noodle.
